In all serious, it was an incredible true story and the scene where the Somali pirates manage to board and hijack the huge Maersk ship is breathtaking - all with a rusty old hook ladder and some nuts. Captain phillips streaming.
This makes for genuine suspense and sympathy for the crew on the nir occupied ship. And at the end the medical team are talking in such a rapid-fire military style it's hard to even see any compassion being shown -- I hope that was not a realistic portrayal! The relative powerlessnes of modern technology in the face of a determined and resourceful challenge comes across througout from the ease with which the attackers could attack a massive modern ship to the constraints on the military on addressing the challenge when human lives are at stake. This is a great edge of your seat film which I will certainly watch again.
