Beautiful presentation of food. Tobacco Caye is a tiny island - no roads, no sidewalks, just sand, cabins, and palm trees. I would have liked more produce with meals. What a great experience!
It would be great to have a larger table in the bedroom or at least side tables on both sides of the bed.
All cabanas face north to the Belize Barrier Reef and have wonderful decks perched over turquoise tropical waters.
When it was time for a meal, one of the ladies rang the dinner bell.
They checked in with us daily at the rooms and at every meal. The island itself is tiny. This was one of my favorite stays in Belize! Recently we had key lime pie with a spun sugar adornment.
I only have two minor comments. And in the middle of our stay, they switched on a new solar power system which brought 24-hour power. I stayed in Room 3, a wonderful basic little duplex cabin with a double and a twin bed, porch with hammock. Would you like to walk on white coral sand, bare foot, feeling as if you are on your own private island, watch a clear night sky, fall asleep listening to the gentle rolling waves on the reef, catch a sundowner at the beach bar? Best of all for me is the snorkeling, featuring a plethora of fish species, rays, eels, and sometimes sharks, turtles, and manatees. Back to the simple life. I think the area in front of the Windward’s cabins is the best sandy beach on the island, and although it’s open to anyone, it was great to have it right out front. Over the last 10 years,we have stayed at least 15 times at Windward. At sunrise or just before you can arrange to go fishing beyond the reef. Three excellent meals a day - delicious, fresh seafood or sometimes chicken. At sundown you can fish off the pier, perhaps with a cold beer, rum punch or some other exotic, refreshing, tropical drink like a Margarita or one of the bartenders famous concoctions, or just simply sit and enjoy the spectacular view of the Belizean sun setting behind the cool, blue Maya Mountains.
